Bill, thank you for making this thread and the one of things to look forward to, it's really helped me keep track of my teevee watching.

Wow, yeah thanks for the intel!

I really hope that Mr. Gould's show takes off.

The most promising on the list to me seems to be The Station. TV suffers when Mr.Goodman isn't on a show, and Mr.Wain deserves a steady paycheque.

I'd also like to see Carolla's project take off, if only to help bolster the eventual success of his planned podcast network which will hopefully involve some of "our" favorite shows.

If I had to pick a horse to bet against I'd have to go with the Broderick project. That guy isn't old enough yet to not look like an aged young guy. If the production values are molded in the Office/parks rec mold I think this one's gonna have a hard time making it.

I just freaked out about Bob's Burgers, then I realized it was animated...

I knew a sitcom starring Eugene Mirman and Dan Mintz was too good to be true.

Eccentric billionaire plus Paul Simms equals win.

    Re: Pilot Season 2010-2011

The Broderick show is multi-camera, so it's not going to be like The Office or Parks & Rec. If I had to guess, I would assume it's going to be in the vein of "Newsradio", given Paul Simms' involvement (And, as people were saying in the not worth its own thread thread, it would be awesome if Stephen Root was hired to play the crazy millionaire guy, as Jimmy James or a Jimmy James-like character).

I'm wondering when these new NBC shows are going to air (if they get picked up). Thursday night's pretty much entrenched as NBC's comedy night, and there are 4 well-established shows there now (Community and Parks & Rec have already been renewed for next season). I guess NBC is going to try to branch out and put sitcoms on other nights, which hasn't worked well for them in the past. Maybe they can team The Strip and Beach Lane together on Wednesday nights or something.

A similar question mark for "Bob's Burgers", but animated shows on FOX take forever to make anyway, it'll probably end up as a midseason replacement while one of the MacFarlane shows is on break.

Your failure to mention Eagleheart over some show on TV Land is gob smacking.
Garrett Gonzalez Morris (born February 1, 1937) is an American comedian and actor from New Orleans, Louisiana. He was part of the original cast of the sketch comedy program Saturday Night Live, appearing from 1975 to 1980

They should start a cable channel that is nothing but failed pilots/one season shows.

Did I miss that news about Community? I know TVbythenumbers is predicting it'll get picked up, since its ratings are higher than Parks & Rec, which WAS already picked up. But I don't believe any announcement has been made (or will be made until May).

I hope above all hope that it WILL get picked up, since it's my favourite new show, and probably my favourite full-on comedy on TV right now, but I'm still nervous as hell until an announcement is made.

    Re: Pilot Season 2010-2011

You're right, I saw some articles online from October saying that "Community" was renewed, but what they really meant was that it was picked up for the "back 9" episodes (13+9 making a full first season). And then just recently 3 more episodes were added, so the first season will be 25 episodes. But no, it hasn't been renewed for a second season officially yet. But the fact that NBC is ordering extra episodes bodes pretty well for it being renewed.

    Re: Pilot Season 2010-2011

CBS has handed a presentation order to an untitled comedy from "Borat" and "Bruno's" Larry Charles and Ant Hines.

The semi-scripted project, from Sony TV and Tantamount, stars English actor Paul Kaye as a British low-life moving to LA to reconnect with his daughter who is a teen celebrity.

"Da Ali G Show" alum Hines penned the project, with Charles on board to direct.

The two are executive producing with Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum and Mitch Hurwitz.

The project reunites Hines with CBS. He was behind the 2006 semi-scripted pilot "The Papdits," which found a second life on the network's Innertube streaming platform.

This is the second comedy pilot about an U.K. man coming to America this season.

ABC's "Awkward Situations for Men" stars British on-air personality Danny Wallace as himself as he moves to the U.S. with his wife, only to discover that his everyday behavior clashes with American values and gets him into trouble.
