Pretty Good, i am a prank artist as well. Good execution.
Every time Siggers posts all that goes through my mind is "Chosen One"
There is no PRANK here.
They just called up an old man and laughed about having sex with his granddaughter. How is that a prank?
It's pretty pathetic.
However, Brand's response to the tabloid (calling them out for writing positive reviews of Hitler back in the 30's) is a nice little jab.
This isn't a prank, it's just a dick move.

This whole thing is weird to me. Russel Brand seems very not funny in the prank. The guy might be really funny, but everytime I've seen him, he is annoying because he appears to find himself the funniest and most clever guy ever.
That said though, that isn't that offensive of a thing to do. At worst I guess implying that the lady is a slut is mean, but there's this kind of strangely sexist undertone to this fake contreversy that somehow the granddaughter made a mistake or that this guy won't be able to be proud of his granddaughter because she isn't a virgin anymore. I get that its something you wouldn't want to hear, but it doesn't seem like a big deal. She slept with someone that she dated for a while, why would the grandfather be so offended?
I suspect the deal is that they're UK Government employees at the BBC... It seems really bizarre though, that the press would cover something that happens in the US with frequency...
the girl is a member of a dance troupe called The Satanic Sluts and she was at Brands house once and told him not to tell her grandfather she was there because Russell and someone else who was there knows her grandfather. They've already talked about it on the show and I'm sure her grandfather heard about it already. Nobody cared about it until he called Sachs. It didn't even seem like a prank phone call when it happened, just seemed like friends joking with another friend. I think if Russell Brand resigned over this that he must have been looking for a way to leave the BBC for awhile.
Being mean to an old man is hilarious! Great execution!
here's the rest of the story: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7698417.stm
the lady is the granddaughter of Andrew Sachs, the guy who played Manuel on Fawlty Towers. I personally think the prank was really rude.
Wow, this has really blown up- Russell has formally apologized and resigned from BBC radio.
I am sad about it, because I had been enjoying the show- and I thought this was a pretty minor prank, but one that got funnier upon repetition. It wasn't a prank call out of the blue, Sachs was supposed to be getting called to be on the show. By the third time that they decided they were going to call back and apologize for the previous calls, it was pretty funny.
Also, it's all Jonathan Ross' fault.
www.badinia.com- get used to less!
It wasn't even a "prank." Sachs was supposed to be the guest on Russell's show and he told Jonathan Ross not to mention that he had banged the granddaughter. When they called him for the interview, he didn't answer and they left a message, wherein Ross opened his big mouth. They ended up pulling a "Swingers" and calling back a few times with intent of a mea culpa that, naturally, ended up being more salt in the wound.
Oh yeah -- and it was fucken FUNNY.
I loved that podcast and am thoroughly bummed. I can only hope that Russell and Noel Gallagher develop that sitcom of theirs...
