This article revealed the Ben Karlin connection. As I understand it, KH were allowed to take credit for it when someone revealed it. They sent out an email this morning.

As I understand it, there was content written to take the site through the end of the year, when they would decide based on whatever criteria they use whether to continue. I haven't heard about a decision either way.
