Have any comedy shows been announced for SXSW 2011?
I'll be there March 11-15. Last year I had to leave a day before a Bamford/Barry show and cried all the way to the airport.
I know there is a Death-Ray show, but I unfortunately do not know the date. As soon as I find that out, I'll post it (I'm totally going to be there, and hope to meet at least a few AST'rs).

You should be able to see a lot of good comedy shows, Phil. I think they're doing much more comedy during the Interactive part of the festival this year.
Yes, from what I understand, there will be an announcement soon. It's going to be pretty great this year.
Hey everyone,
On behalf of SXSW Comedy, I wanted to say there will be an official announcement about confirmed talent and special programming sometime next week. I can also tell you that there will be a live Comedy Death-Ray show taping. Stay tuned for updates and check out our blog at http://sxsw.com/comedy
Best,
John Merriman

So, question, do I have to buy one of them there expensive 500 dollar badges to go to Death-Ray. That's the only show I'm going to. And I wanted to bring friends. But I don't want them to have to pay 500 dollars for it.

If there is room you can normally buy tickets for $20 or so. Or that's how it has been in the past.

Heeeeeeeell yeeeeeeeeeeeah!
I'll be at all 3 Death-Rays, DLM, and hopefully The Benson Interruption. If you see someone who looks like me, just yell Henderson and we'll party it up!

Don't have a badge, but hopefully I can get into DLM, CDRR, and WTF.
I don't have a badge either but would love to see some of these shows. What are the chances of getting in without a badge? Is it worth risking a drive down from Dallas?
I've been to the music portion of SXSW many times and know it can be hard to get into shows without a badge but don't know if the comedy shows get the same kind of traffic.
Well, from what I understand, these are badge-only events, which means you can't get in with a wristband, so that cuts down on the "just curious" traffic that often clogs up a show. I have been to these in the past and didn't have any trouble getting in when buying a ticket. Showing up early helped though.
The shows during the music portion are open to wristbands. The shows during film and interactive (the first weekend) are not. But they're basically the only live SXSW-official entertainment going on during that period of time, so I'm worried all of the interactive badge holders might converge there.
But they've never had this much comedy at SXSW before, so maybe everything will be pretty easy to get into. And even if you don't get in, you'll probably find something fun to do.
How early will people get in line?
Anyone know if there is ANY WAY POSSIBLE to still get an IFC SXSW wristband? Or if you can pay to get into the show once wristband people get there? I DON'T WANT TO MISS REGGIE TONIGHT!
