Please get more going on in your comedy scene so that I might consider moving to you from Chicago (of all places).
Thanks!

Dear Percykittens,
Please be more specific. The comedy scene here is ever-growing.
Love,
Austin
While I understand that there is a local stand-up and improv/sketch scene happening there, I just meant out of town comics and festivals and such (of course, I've never been to Austin and have no idea).
You know what- you've convinced me with your screen name alone. I'm coming for a visit this summer!
Seriously? Your problem with Austin is it's lack of festivals featuring comedians? Need I point you in the direction of this past year's SXSW (Comedy Bang Bang with Paul Reubens, WTF Live, Nerdist Live, DLM with Simon Pegg, The Benson Interruption, DOZENS OF OTHER SHOWS).
Also, as someone in Houston, any and all comedy events I go to in this state are in Austin. Just look at the schedule for Cap City Comedy Club and find a month where at least one badass comedy type isn't performing.
Eyes are the losers in the skies.
gee, sorry. what about music?

Austin City Limits!

Also, besides the aforementioned SXSW goings on, there are comedy related festivals Out of Bounds (started as improv but now incorporates sketch and standup) and Ladies Are Funny Festival (it also has an acronym related to it, but i dunno what it is). FunFunFunFest has a comedy stage. All of these have people from outta town as well as locals.
