Some suggestions for your TV viewing this weekend:
Tonight at 10 PM, "Pushing Daisies" returns to ABC. The critically acclaimed series, which was cancelled last season by ABC, will air its last 3 episodes, which have been unseen so far in the US, although they have aired already in the UK and have been available for a while online. The Season 2 DVD comes out July 21st. Warner Bros. has given the OK to producer Bryan Fuller to produce comic books which will wrap up all the unresolved storylines in the series for fans. Fuller has stated that the "third" season will be twelve issues long and will be a fresh take on the zombie genre starring all of the characters from the show. It will be published by DC Comics.
Tomorrow, at 8 PM, "Million Dollar Password" returns to CBS. The celebrity contestants on this episode will be comedian Norm McDonald and "Heckler" star (and fan of podcasts) Jamie Kennedy. Another new episode of the game show will air on June 14th, with Jeff Garlin and Chelsea Handler as contestants.
Also tomorrow at 9 PM, "The MTV Movie Awards" with host Andy Samberg will air on MTV. AST contributor Scott Aukerman will be the head writer for the show, which promises to be less "jokes-poking-fun-at-celebrities"-oriented and more focused on pre-prepared comedy bits. Several comedians are expected to present awards, including Sacha Baron Cohen (in character as Bruno), Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Ed Helms ("The Hangover"), Will Ferrell and Danny McBride ("Land of the Lost"), Thomas Lennon ("Reno 911!", and the screenwriter of "Night at the Museum 2"), and Jonah Hill ("Funny People"). Also, Ben Stiller will be receiving the Generation Award for his many years of starring in and writing/directing comedy films.
