This one takes me back... As some of you might know, aspecialthing.com started out as a Tenacious D message board. Ah, the good old days. Anyway, here's something new, and cool, for D fans: Kyle Gass and John "Kones" Koneski (who tours with the D and plays electric guitar in Gass's side-project Trainwreck) have started an instructional web series for guitarists. Finally, you can learn how to play Tenacious D's songs the right way. Featuring perplexingly high production value and a healthy dose of humor, these videos give you a rare glimpse inside the fancy fretwork that goes into each and every D tune.

We wanted to let you guys know about the all new Guitarings. A web show featuring the well-known duo of Kyle Glass and John Konesky (a.k.a. KG and Kones), who also help make up the famed comedy-rock group Tenacious D. They have joined forces with the team at FRET12 to launch a weekly YouTube series. Throughout the series, KG and Kones will cover guitar instruction, interviews, and more of the exclusive behind-the-scenes footage that makes FRET12 famous. Already boasting over 18,000 views, the premier of the show was released on August 17th and is the first of many weekly episodes to come.
