Tonight: "The Life and Times of Tim" returns to HBO

After being off the air for close to two years, HBO's animated comedy "The Life and Times of Tim" returns to the cable channel tonight at 9 PM. The series about an average guy whose actions repeatedly lead him down the wrong path was created by Steve Dildarian, who executive produces, writes for the show and provides the voice of Tim. Each half-hour episode consists of two segments that find Tim in a new unenviable dilemma. In this third season, Tim's habit of befriending bizarre and unusual personalities in New York City continues to put him in dangerously funny circumstances. In addition to Dildarian, voices are provided by Mary Jane Otto (Amy), Nick Kroll (Stu), Matt Johnson (Rodney) and Peter Giles (The Boss).

The second season of "The Life and Times of Tim" is also now available on DVD.

BJ Porter said on Twitter that he wrote for this season.

The pacing and rhythm of this show is so soothing....it's very Dr. Katz-esque.
I particularly liked "He's still eating the meatball sub"
It sounds like they leave a lot of room for improvisation too, with Tig's character being a highlight.

Listen for me saying something at the beginning of the episode on December 26!

Listen for me telling you watch this season! Graham Wagner was supervising producer this year, and I have no idea what that title means, but I think he got the job because of this.

This week's episode was great! A double shot of Andy Daly as the bartender and the tattoo parlor guy, also Marc Maron as the bouncer, Andy Kindler as a rabbi, and Paul Rust as Stu's nephew. I would love to just watch a recording session of this with all these guys improvising together, that might almost be more entertaining than the show.

This show continues to kick ass in the voice talent department. In this week's episode, you had Andy Daly, Nick Kroll, and Rob Corddry all interacting together in one scene; it was like an episode of Comedy Bang Bang. Later in the episode, Rory Scovel showed up as a typically bizarre character.
If anyone here is not watching this, you're missing out.
