Tonight on Comedy Central: Amy Schumer's "Mostly Sex Stuff"

Nothing is off limits for Amy Schumer in the world premiere of her first original one-hour stand-up special, “Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff,” premiering on Comedy Central on Saturday, August 18th at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Before a live audience at the historic Fillmore in San Francisco, Schumer airs every hilarious, messed up detail of her dating and sex life, from encounters with unexpected body parts to hate-filled personal grooming appointments. In her matter-of-fact raunchy style, at odds with her self-described “Cabbage Patch Kid” appearance, Schumer tells stories of a boyfriend who makes dirty requests over dinner, the way she outsmarts her birth control, and a shocking ending to a seemingly innocent cab ride.

Schumer, a breakout performer on last year’s “Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen,” once again took the dais as a roaster at this summer’s “Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne". Comedy Central recently announced it has greenlit Schumer’s sketch series, which will feature single-camera vignettes centered around a theme with Schumer playing heightened versions of herself.

I saw this live. Super funny. They only recorded it on June 23rd, so quick to get it out. I recognized just a couple bits for "Cutting", so I'd love to see this as an album. Kyle Kinane, Kristen Schaal, and Eugene Mirman all recorded their hour specials in SF on the previous days, so I guess we'll see those soon.

Truly, this is The Summer of Schumer…

Her hour special was divine, plus strong showings on the Roseanne Roast and The Burn w/ Jeff Ross premiere have cemented her as CC's "it girl" of the moment. Hell, even Tig Notaro is moving to NYC to write for Amy's upcoming series (too bad they cancelled Sarah's show — that could have been a killer double bill). Sure, Schumer is a "pretty girl talking about sex" but she is very funny.
