Comedy Central revealed its 2009-2010 development slate today, and the unofficially titled "Sklar Brothers Sports Comedy Show" was announced as having been greenlit for pilot production and script development. The series, to be executive produced by Michael Eisner's Tornante Company, will be a single-camera, half-hour workplace comedy about two brothers who run a small-time, family-owned trading card company which is being taken over by a giant sports marketing conglomerate. The show, which will reportedly feature real professional athletes and sports personalities, sounds very similar to a web series the Sklars did for the Topps trading card company in 2008 called "Back on Topps" (which was also produced by Eisner).
While this project right now is still in its very early stages, keep an eye on AST for more information on this story as it develops. You can read our earlier story on the "Back on Topps" web series right here.
