Patton joining the cast of "Caprica"

I am going to go ahead and break my vow to never write out the name of the rechristened Sci Fi Channel just once to say that Patton Oswalt will be joining the cast of Syfy's "Caprica." The Hollywood Reporter is reporting from Hollywood (as is its wont) that Oswalt will be playing Baxter Sarno, a popular comedian/talkshow host. The story describes Sarno as a recurring character (actually the story says Oswalt is joining the cast as a "recurring"). "Caprica" is a prequel series set before the events in "Battlestar Galactica," the widely praised and recently concluded remake of the 1979 show that dared to ask tough questions like: What if in the seventh episode of season 4.5 we have a character sit in a hospital bed and babble out copious reams of confusing exposition?

I have been sitting here for a minute trying to think of how to express how incredibly bad the pilot for Caprica is, but words just aren't enough.
