"Party Down" Season 1 out on DVD today; Season 2 begins April 23rd on STARZ

One of our favorite "AST-approved" shows, "Party Down", is about to return soon on the STARZ network, on April 23rd. To refresh yourself before beginning the new season, you can catch up on all the first season episodes by buying the first season on DVD. It's out today at all good stores everywhere. Star Adam Scott and executive producers John Enbom and Dan Etheridge contribute audio commentaries for two episodes: "Taylor Stiltskin Sweet Sixteen" and "Celebrate Ricky Sargulesh". There are also outtakes and deleted scenes included on the set. Unfortunately, the original pitch video for the series- shot at creator Rob Thomas' house, with a few changes in the cast - couldn't be included because of clearance issues.

Actress Megan Mullally ("Will & Grace," "Fame") will be joining the "Party Down" cast for Season 2 as Lydia Dunfree, a middle-aged refugee from a lousy marriage who moves to Hollywood in hopes that her 13 year-old daughter will make it big. Bryan Gordon ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") and Fred Savage ("The Wonder Years") return as series directors and supervising producers. Also directing episodes this year are David Wain and Ken Marino, who directed the season finale. If you want to get a sneak preview of some of the upcoming plotlines this season, The Futon Critic has all 10 episode titles listed on their "Party Down" page, but warning, some of the titles themselves are spoilers.

I'm thrilled to the gillies about this. Season one blew me away. I rarely feel compelled to re-watch shows but this is that kind of series. I had to show it to people.

The two Season 2 episodes in the dvd were amazing. Ken Marino is absolutely fantastic. Megan totally fits in. Andrea Savage is a guest star on the second episode and is absolutely fantastic. The writing is great, the events are hilarious, I'm SO excited for next season.

Ken Marino Says a Third Season of Party Down Could Happen

Just bumping this since the premiere is tonight on Starz. I don't have Starz but I have Netflix and noticed last night that they offer a live stream of Starz and I caught part of the Season 1 marathon and it was even funnier than I remember. Is Starz going to be offering the same deal this year whereby they upload each episode to Netflix as they air or do I need to be around my computer at the exact moment each one airs to catch the stream?

The first two episodes of the new season are subpar, but I read that things pick up after that.
