Introducing the all-new AST: News blog!

Big news everybody: we're turning the front page of AST into a full-time comedy news blog! No longer will you have to dig through endless message board threads to find the latest news about the comedians, movies, TV shows, live shows, websites, web series and podcasts you love. It's all going to be right here. There's even an RSS feed for this feature if you'd like to follow AST: News that way.

The AST: News team includes myself, Jouster, Itslikeimsayin, BillBrasky and TomHicks, but maybe the coolest thing about this blog is that anyone can contribute. Use the News tags [ ] to automatically format any post that you feel is worth front-page status, and if the editors agree, we will move it on up Jeffersons-style.

To comment on a story, just click the "Read + Discuss" link. You've seen a blog before, right? So you get it. Great! Thanks for reading. And now, please continue enjoying AST.

Couple of quick follow-ups: while only official news contributors can post in the AST: News forum, anyone can (obviously) reply to the threads here. Also, if you want to post a prospective news item in the main AST: Comedy forum, all you need to do is start your post with an image wrapped in the News tag

and wrap it all in the "R+D" tag

= [ RD ] [ /RD ] (without spaces)

We'll take care of the rest.
