Two sorely missed L.A. comics join forces (sort of) as one this Sunday as Paul F. Tompkins presents "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" in his first L.A. appearance since moving back to Los Angeles from New York several days ago. The screening is part of Comedy Death-Ray's monthly Cinefamily series at the Silent Movie Theatre on Fairfax. Each month, a different comic presents one of his or her favorite movies for a one-time-only screening. The show is hosted by CDR co-founder Scott Aukerman and the $14 price tag includes free beer and hot dogs.
On a related note, in case you hadn't heard, Pee-wee Herman is coming back for a two-month engagement at the Music Box at the Fonda Theater beginning Nov. 8. With Paul back home and PW back in action, I can't think of a better way to celebrate than seeing Paul present Pee-wee's masterpiece on Sunday night!
