Variety.com is reporting that FX has ordered 13 episodes of the Louis C.K. comedy series "Louie," which uses a mix of stand-up and filmed "vignettes" to tell the autobiographical story of a recently divorced comedian raising two daughters in New York. The trade believes "Louie" will premiere early next year, while the cable network's other new comedy "The League," from "Seinfeld" and "Curb" alum Jeff Schaffer, could begin airing alongside "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" this fall. (Look for Paul Scheer and Nick Kroll in the cast of that show.)
Of the 12 episode (plus pilot) pickup, Louis told AST he's in "total shock. I expected [a] 5 [episode order]."
