"Freak Show", "Dog Bites Man" both get a DVD release on May 15th
In a surprise announcement, a DVD company named Olive Films will be releasing two short-lived Comedy Central series from 2006 that did not seem to be candidates for a DVD release.
"Freak Show - The Complete Series" was created/written by H. Jon Benjamin and David Cross, who also did voicework for the series, along with other comedians like Janeane Garofalo, Brian Stack, Jon Glaser, and Will Arnett. The 7-episode animated series dealt with a band of carnival oddities who are secretly employed by the Pentagon to execute low-priority missions. The DVD is already up for pre-order on Amazon, but there is no cover artwork as of yet.
The other show, "Dog Bites Man", was an AST favorite that starred Zach Galifianakis, A.D. Miles, Andrea Savage and Matt Walsh as investigative news reporters travelling the country reporting the human-interest stories no one else will touch. The 2-disc set will contain all 9 episodes of the show that aired on Comedy Central in the summer of 2006. It can also currently be pre-ordered on Amazon. Both DVDs will be out on May 15th.
