David Wain to Direct "The Station" Pilot

David Wain (Wet Hot American Summer, The Ten, Role Models) has been tapped to direct a television comedy pilot for Ben Stiller's production company, Red Hour Films. "The Station" stars John Goodman and "revolves around a group of lackluster CIA operatives at a covert South American outpost, where they're charged with installing a new dictator," reports Variety.

Wain tells me via email he was contacted out of the blue and asked to direct, loved the script and said yes. "I'm excited about the world of a CIA outpost in Central America as the setting for a comedy," he wrote. "Should be a blast."

Yeah sounds very promising. It's been too long since we've seen Goodman around; he's got a great comic sensibility. Is it chance or fate that i'm wearing my 'I Don't Roll on Shabbas' shirt?

Stiller on Twitter mentioned that the cast for this includes Justin Bartha (Hangover), Jordan Peele (as Obama), Human Giant Rob Huebel and comedy's own Whitney Cummings.

This sounds like a prequel to The Expendables with Stallone, but a comedy:

A team of highly-skilled combat mercenaries goes on a mission to South America to overthrow and execute a villainous dictator and his army, who has been causing devastation and chaos for the last 20 years.
