Comedy Central Greenlights "Sports Show With Norm Macdonald"

Comedy Central announced today that it has picked up "Sports Show with Norm Macdonald", with an initial eight-episode order. The new series is slated to begin production this month with an April premiere.

"Sports Show with Norm Macdonald" will feature Macdonald's unique and comedic take on the most topical and controversial stories from the sports world. Taped in front of a live studio audience, the fast-paced and informative show will cover all sports – from the popular to the obscure – delivered with Macdonald's unforgettable style, reminiscent of his hugely popular run as "SNL"'s Weekend Update anchor. The series will be executive produced by Macdonald, Marc Gurvitz, Lori Jo Hoekstra and Jackhole Productions' Daniel Kellison. Jim Sharp and Gary Mann are the executives in charge of production for Comedy Central.

Norm also has an upcoming original one-hour special, "Norm Macdonald: Me Doing Stand-Up" which premieres on Comedy Central on Saturday, March 12 at 11 p.m.

Norm is also taking over for Gabe Kaplan as the host of High Stakes Poker on GSN for the season starting on 2/26.

I totally agree. It's almost not worth watching because I spend more time rewinding then I would fast forwarding while on tv.

Oh good, I'm not the only one this is happening to. It reeeeeally made it difficult to enjoy the end of Pete Holmes set on John Oliver's show.

This seems like a new development though, I don't remember it skipping around when I watched Aziz's special.

I actually didn't watch it either because of the skipping I figured I was the only person that happened to though. I know it didn't do that when I watched Nick Kroll's special but for Mash Up, John Oliver and Give it Up for Greg Giraldo it happened for all of them. So it's definitely more recent.
