Cinemash recreates classic movie cheese using comedians

Mean Magazine has teamed up with Microsoft to produce a web series called "Cinemash," which takes the best/worst scenes from the (usually) awful movies of yesteryear and recreates them using the comedy stars of today. Based on the films parodied, Patrick Swayze seems to have been a key influence: witness our own Charlyne Yi and Channing Tatum ("G.I. Joe," "Step Up") act out one of the most embarrassing seduction scenes in film history as Baby and Johnny in "Dirty Dancing." (In another episode, Tom Lennon and Ben Garant of "Reno 911" and Human Giant's Aziz Ansari and Rob Huebel reenact a classic cops-n-robbers showdown from "Point Break.") Some other episodes veer more towards the promotional (eg. the stars of "500 Days of Summer" playing Sid & Nancy), but it's a great premise with nearly inexhaustible possibilities; here's hoping we see more in the future.
