Re: CDR Xmas Charity Auction is Live!

I wish I had money, but I'm also glad I don't have money, because I would HAVE to outbid everyone for everything.

I will be getting my kitty the x-rays she needs cause I'm not heartless, but I won't deny that I seriously considered putting Junebug's health on hold to outbid Spaulding for ILM.

A thought: Can we bid for ILM in weed?

no, it would just make people at the food bank hungrier.

(did you name Junebug after the movie?)

I like to think that's what she's named after but she was named that when I got her.

If she get's better before she needs X-Rays, perhaps we can continue this conversation further on ILM

Re: CDR Xmas Charity Auction is Live!

I doubt it will make a difference, but while I was bored earlier, I sent out a bunch of emails to The Office fansites informing them of the script auction. Seems like that should be a hot item.

Re: CDR Xmas Charity Auction is Live!

Tracy, last year's winner of the CDR line pass, wrote to us about what his winning bid meant to him:

"I’ve been a fan of stand-up and sketch comedy since I was nine or ten years old. I remember the first Python sketch I ever saw. (It was “Wink, wink, nudge, nudge”). My dad would let me stay up late to watch the Tonight Show if there was someone good on. Carlin, Pryor, Robert Klein and David Brenner were my favorites. I snuck into my first comedy club when I was sixteen. It was the Comedy Store in Westwood. Joel Hodgson and Mike Binder were performing. I can still remember some of their jokes from that night.

"For me, an aficionado of stand-up comedy, having the Front-of-the-Line pass for Comedy Death Ray has been the ultimate experience. I watched a show on Comedy Central the other night about the hottest young comics of 2009 and with one or two exceptions I’d seen all of them multiple times at CDR and was already familiar with them and how funny they were. I feel really priviliged.

"And I loved having my own special seat like Norm on Cheers. I chose that seat because I wanted to be next to the comics that lurk in the alcove to listen to the comic on stage. One night when Brian Posehn was on he was doing a bit about hackneyed stand-up comedy premises and said something to the effect that maybe he ought to be doing jokes about the black box that they have on airplanes. The only person I heard laugh was Dana Gould, who was squatting down in the shadows. That was extremely interesting to me. It was always intriguing to hear what made other comics laugh.

"Having the pass for 2009 made me feel like the King of some make-believe land called Comedia, were the greatest jesters in all the kingdom tirelessly conspire to make merry for my amusement every Tuesday night at 8:30. Now that my time is up and I must relinquish the crown I feel like Rutger Hauer at the end of Blade Runner. I’ve seen things people wouldn't believe. Kevin Pollack doing 10 minutes of Walken followed by 10 minutes of Albert Brooks. Patton Oswalt’s birthday show. Unannounced appearances by Zach Galifianakis. Sarah Silverman asking the audience for a joint. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in the rain.

"I already envy the winner of the 2010 VIP CDR front-of-the-line pass. Long live the King."

YOU can win 2010! Bid here:

Does eBay not allow non-involved parties to view auctions once they've closed anymore?
