Behold! Baron Vaughn's debut CD has arrived, both in its physical form (available at astrecords.com) and as a digital spirit-ghost (aka download) via iTunes and AmazonMP3, among other sources.

For those of you who know Baron and his comedy, no convincing is necessary, but if you're new to Baron, let me just say that you're in for a treat. He's got all the moves -- from joke-jokes to stories to impressions to even singing -- and they're all on display in this tour de force performance. When we recorded this show, he got a standing ovation at the end (not one of those, "Oh, we're standing? Okay, I'll join in" standing-o's either -- this was an instant, spontaneous eruption), and that response was correct. Can't wait for you all to hear it. (The album, not the standing ovation -- that just sounds like a lot of loud clapping.)

Never heard of Baron Vaughn before but AST Records has never steered me wrong to date, so...purchased. It's great. I particularly like when he breaks into Seal's "Kiss From a Rose" on the "Cat People" track.

I remember watching a video on MySpace from Baron doing a tour and being an instant fan (found it: http://www.myspace.com/video/vid/7485668). I bought the CD from Amazon and didn't hear any of that on it. It clocks in over an hour without feeling fluffy, which isn't an easy feat for a debut. Nice job, BV. Congrats on everything. And I hope Seal doesn't call for a royalty check.
