Adult Swim Pilot Premiere Tonight: Snake N' Bacon

Potentially alienating another couple dozen animation purists, Adult Swim is premiering a live-action/animated hybrid show from noted comic stripper Michael Kupperman, best known for Tales Designed To Thrizzle. He has also written for Comedy Central's TV Funhouse and contributed to SNL's "Saturday TV Funhouse."

Watch and see, the show features a bunch of great performers like Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), Brian Stack (Late Night with Conan O'Brien), Dan Bakkedahl (The Daily Show), author David Rakoff (This American Life), James Urbaniak (The Venture Brothers), Kristin Schaal (Flight of the Conchords) and Peter Serafinowicz (Look Around You).

Snake N' Bacon airs Sunday night at 12:45 as part of Cartoon Network's May 10th [adult swim] block, which begins Sunday night and continues on into Monday morning.

Snake N' Bacon is one of my all-time fave comics! I loved the fake comic book covers. There was one with a bunch of pirates sitting around doing nothing and the cover read "Waiting For Adventure!"
Psyched for this.

This show is awesome. Anyone who loved "TV Funhouse" (I noticed Smigel credited as a consultant) or "Wonder Showzen" should definitely check this out.

Please tell me this will eventually become a full series!

Kupperman has said several times that there will not be any more Snake N' Bacon.

I don't know what idiots are voting on these things, but Snake N' Bacon lost last week and Duckworth is losing to the horrible Southies this week. And Southies is only a minute long clip. The entire Duckworth pilot is on there and I loved it. I definitely want to see more.


Edit: All of these are available on MySpleen. Yappy Broads was very funny. Dino absolutely kills in it and I'd love to see more episodes. Neon Knome is a PFFR production and it shows. Soul Quest Overdrive made me laugh but it seems like an Aqua Teen clone.

Loved Duckworth. Matt Berry is right up there for me with the infallible of comedy.

And sadly, it seems people are just having a kneejerk negative reaction to live-action, as the glut of hardcore Adult Swim fanboys generally do. Unfortunate that they've paired up a live action against a cartoon every week.

I just saw the Duckworth pilot as well, and also loved it. I looked at the credits and noticed that one of the 4 credited writers was Jon Wurster! That raises my interest in it getting picked up to series even more.
