ABC orders pilot from Casey Wilson and June Diane Raphael
From Deadline:
"The Housewives", a multi-camera comedy from "Saturday Night Live" alumnus Casey Wilson, actress/writer June Diane Raphael, director Will Gluck and production company Sony Pictures TV, has landed at ABC with a put pilot commitment.
Written and executive produced by Wilson and Raphael, "The Housewives" is about three female friends in 1954. Raphael is in negotiations to play one of the three leads in the project, produced by Sony TV and Gluck’s studio-based TV production company Olive Bridge Entertainment. Richard Schwartz co-executive produces.
"The Housewives" reunites the team behind last year’s single-camera comedy project "Walk Of Shame", which was also set up at ABC through Sony TV and Gluck’s company, with Wilson and Raphael writing. Wilson has a pre-existing relationship with ABC, of course, co-starring on the ABC/Sony comedy "Happy Endings". This marks the second major sale for Gluck’s company this season, following the 22-episode on-air commitment it received from NBC for a family comedy starring Michael J. Fox. Wilson and Raphael also just wrapped the comedy feature "Ass Backwards", which they co-wrote and play the two leads in.

This is interesting. The Splitsider article about this says the show is "multicam with a twist", which - I don't know what that means. I guess maybe like "How I Met Your Mother", technically multi-camera but not shot in front of a studio audience.
That makes sense given the subject matter, in fact if they want to be realistic about this the show should be shot in black and white.

These girls are great, congrats! But what ending up happening with the show they sold to ABC last year? Did they ever make it to the pilot stage?
Awesome that June will play one of the leads too! I'd love if they got to cast some more of their UCB friends as the other leads. I can see Jessica St. Clair or Lennon Parham being good choices. RIP BFF

Natasha Leggero comes to mind, she would be pretty perfect playing a 1950s character I would think. I also like the idea of doing it b&w, but probably a risky move I don't think ABC would be willing to make.
