3 new cast members added at SNL

NBC announced today that three new cast members have been added for the 38th season of Saturday Night Live, which begins September 15th with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean.

Aidy Bryant (pictured to the right) has trained with iO Chicago, the Annoyance Theatre and was an ensemble member of the Second City E.T.C Stage based in Chicago. Aidy was once part of a sketch group with SNL cast member Vanessa Bayer while at the Annoyance.

Tim Robinson (also pictured to the right) has performed on the Second City Mainstage and was part of their National Touring Company. He was also in the cast of a sketch comedy pilot produced earlier this year for Comedy Central called "My Mans", which was executive produced by Bob Odenkirk. It can be seen here.

The third new cast member, Cecily Strong, is also a veteran of the Chicago comedy scene, boasting training at iO, Annoyance Theatre, and Second City.

The three new cast members are being added as featured performers. It remains to be seen whether Kate McKinnon, who was added as a featured player late last season, will remain one or be promoted to full cast member along with Taran Killam, Vanessa Bayer, and Jay Pharoah. It also remains to be seen whether Jason Sudeikis is returning to the cast, as nothing official has been announced yet. We'll find out Saturday night!

I saw Tim Robinson perform a bunch of times in Chicago. I thought he was incredible!
