    Websites

Does anybody know any websites or ideas for listings where I could get an idea of where there are open mics in my hometown?

That might be a nice feature for ASP.com to add to the site...

    Where do you live?
There is most likely someone else on the board who does stand-up in that area.

I'm originally from a small city of about 12,000 called Alexandria, MN. But right now, until May I will be in Hilo, Hawaii. I'll be going back to MN then, but I think I may move out to the desert southwest soon after. Thank you, guys very much!!!

So, you know, if anyone could post a list of open mics in Alexandria Minnesota, Hilo Hawaii and the 'desert southwest', I'm sure it would be much appreciated...

Have you tried just typing in 'www.openmicsinthemiddleoffuckingnowhere.com'?

There's also the tried-and-true route of heading to your nearest comedy club on open mic night (they should have a website) and then asking the host and other comics about other spots to perform. Although that does require leaving the house.

I agree with drieux on this. Go to a comedy club and ask around.

I live in Winona, MN and most of the stuff that goes on, atleast for open mics is in the cities, once a week there's an open mic in Rochester, and like once a month in Winona. But just go to a comedy club in the cities (I'll suggest ACME) and ask tell the nicest looking comedian that you live in Alexandria but want to get started in comedy and if they know any places that are to the West that do open mics. And if nothing else, start your own.
