Tips on recording live comedy.

I am recording a set for a client tomorrow and while I have recorded music live, the capturing the crowd was never a concern. I plan on recording the comic straight from the board and micing the audience.

Does anyone have any advice on mic placement, or anything else that I have most likely overlooked.

I think the only challenge is keeping PA audio from your audience mic as much as possible. Not much you can do except for mic choice and placement. I assume you will have two tracks to then mix and play with. Sounds like you will be good.
