    Speech To Text Recognition Software

As I've been working on some longer bits I've felt constricted by my audio recorder and pen 'n paper. I was wondering if anyone has tried Speech to text when you're just riffing or running a character, etc.

Seems to me like it could be a useful first draft run on some bits that would free you up to talk it out more, etc.

I was also thinking about using it to record my sets rather than just on my digital audio recorder so I can more easily translate that set into the record, so to speak.

Boils down to... I have notes in 2 cell phones, on various scraps of paper, in numerous notebooks, and also a digital audio recorder. I'm kinda wanting a cheat to get more stuff typed up without having to go through so much of a technology circle.

    Vlingo.

    Any experience/insight?
    thanks

I have that. I use it to catch my thoughts on the fly, then it goes for a spin in Word for grammar washifying, then I use text-to-speech to turn my jokes into a AIFF file which goes on my iPod, and then I just hold that up to the mic when I'm on stage.

But I'm also pressing clubs to get WiFi so I can just beam my act down to them, so I'll never actually have to appear on stage —*at all! You won't even have to go! Webcams will monitor the comedy for you. It's a "be everywhere without being anywhere" non-performance-art kind of thing. The big money is in syndication, you know, and there are only four jokes anyway.

    Computers are great.

Webcam comedy already failed. We got undercut by imprisoned Phllipino joke slaves. I can't work for 1/2 a nickle an hour.

Your thread is trash, and trash belongs in the gutter, not in my mind.

You know what else I'd like to complain about? The city I live in. They're suing me for putting my trash in the gutter. They say that trash belongs in the trash can. But you know what belongs in the trash can? YOUR THREAD! And you know what else? GET OUT!

Can we just make one big thread for everything? I'm tired of clicking on different buttons.

All I can envision when I see this thread title is a HAL computer voice saying "I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid Chris Rock already did that."
Erik Charles Nielsen is a moderately funny fellow... right?
