This is my fifth time doing stand up. I'm more of an improviser, really, but I have really been enjoying the whole writing aspect of this type of stuff. I think my last joke is definitely my strongest. I start out very obviously nervous, but by the end I think I kind of hit my stride. All and all i'm proud of how this set went, but I need to work on a lot of stuff too.

My two 13 pesos to a dollar centavos:

I think it's a very good effort for a fifth time. You have great energy and seem willing to take risks with your body language. I think you'll find out what works for you and what doesn't in that regard. I'd just say just try to be more in the moment and once you get more stage time and lose your nerves you'll be able to control those gesture and cadence vices you seem to have, if you listen to yourself you'll see you have a very samey delivery that goes UP and then goes DOWN and then UP and DOWN. Which seems animated, but after the third repetition it starts getting monotone.

I think the line "pushing out the italians" is very funny and strong, maybe you'd consider giving more emphasis to it, since it encompasses what's wrong about gentrification. I don't know if the Pink Floyd shirt/Brooklyn analogy quite works, specially since you focus on the "people jumping on a bandwagon aspect" but ignore the "pushing out the italians" aspect. Maybe adding that bit will make it stronger, maybe the Pink Floyd kid can't afford Pink Floyd shirts because all the new demand drove the price up, he must scale back to Frank Zappa.

All in all good job, and congratulations.

    Hey,

Thank you so much for your feedback, that's all very helpful stuff. I dig the direction you think that joke should go in, so I might work on something analogous to that. As per my delivery, you're totally right. I feel like I get a bit nervous so I fall into redundant speech patterns, so i'll work on that.

    Thanks again.
