I don't like that there is a Worst Show Ever thread and not a Best Show ever one.
Where? When? What jokes did you do? What did you do different? How much time did you do? Did you get a kiss from a pretty girl (guy) afterwards? You big pimp (ladypimp).
Tell me how it went and how you're going to make your next show even better.
Standouts:
My friend's roast. The crowd was amazing and it was a great time. The good vibes were with us that night.
That contest thing that I did last year. HUGE crowd.
My friend's farewell show. Me and a few locals ripping it up. Also the show I did before that was pretty great too.
Also tons of fun open mics. Pretty much anytime I've tried new stuff and it got laughs has been awesome.
I did a comedy open mic with a bunch of people I generally dislike. My plan was to go on stage tell two opening jokes and then flip through my joke book and randomly pick jokes in hopes of getting some new material over while bombing for these assholes.
As soon as I show up of course the asshole on stage starts trying to do some annoying crowd work with me and then tries to get vaguely racial with me. Yes, I know white comics making fun of Asian people always gets over.
So I get on stage, and somehow fucking kill. Then I just start riffing about how amazing I am and start telling people to "take notes" despite the fact that I am just randomly going through my joke book on stage. The aforementioned asshole is playing with his phone during my set so I go, "look this guy is taking notes!"
Everyone laughs and he yells, "I WAS JUST USING MY PHONE" and makes a point later on in the evening to tell everyone they had a good set but me. Most of the other comedians leave in the same fashion "good sets" all around except for me.
This is a joke I've done several times with some success, but never to a room of 250+ people. I used it as an opener, and the rest of my set was cake. My best set yet.
