Anybody on this board live in or around Santa Cruz? Where should we hang after the show?

near the Rio Theatre, I can't think of much. directly across the street, The Crepe Place has a bar (I don't think the Rio serves drinks but you're probably able to have your own stuff backstage/upstairs). if you walk out of the Rio's front door, about 3 blocks to your right there's an older, divey sports bar called One Double Oh Seven (also their street address). oh and One Double Oh Seven still allows you to smoke inside

the place i've always heard good things about is called The Red Room (1003 Cedar St) (you could take either Soquel or Water Street a mile west towards the river, turn on Pacific or Cedar and go about two blocks) here's a map detailing that

EDIT: apparently The Poet and Patriot is pretty good too, and just a few blocks south at 320 Cedar St.

i'm gonna try and get some friends to come out to this tonight, kinda forgot it was today

    Hi Matt,
I live in the Santa Cruz area (Aptos), Darryl listed most of the bars in the santa cruz area that are worth going to.
If your not trying to go to a bars i would try to find a hippy and get involved in the "roots" of your show.

looking forword to seeing the show tonight, it better be good! im ditching class for this, no pressure. hah im sure it will be good.

If all else fails I live in a pretty sweet area in Aptos, its safe and pretty. Its me and three other ladies (one of them is mine). We always welcome clean/interesting guests, and wont bite if you need a place to stay.
If you need any info on hotels/places to go feel free to call me at 530 574 6115.
Best of luck to your show,
    See ya tonight!

some more minor details from a santa cruz local friend:

"1007 is kinda boring, it doesn't get much action and is really well lit.

the red room is my usual hangout, the rush (on pacific by the clock tower) is another great choice. The problem with the poet is they only serve beer.

Another thing is Red and Rush and 1007 are smoking bars, and Poet, Crepe are non smoking, if that makes a difference."

The Rush is The Rush Inn, 113 Knight Street at Pacific. almost the same directions, taking Water or Soquel a mile west to Pacific and making a right. (Pacific/Water/Knight being the surrounding streets)

I saw a version of this same show (or maybe some parts of the show) at UCB in Los Angeles about a week ago. It was really funny; a strong, solid show. Check it out, Santa Cruz (and surrounding areas)!

Were you the guy who wore the Gollum outfit and accosted me on that table? The table tipped over, and I thought you might have broken a bone yet I proceeded to walk away.
Sadly (tragically, in fact) it was probably the most interesting thing that happened to me during that comic con because all of the guests I wanted to see flaked out.
When is the show going to air on Comedy Central?
