The Comedy Gallery is a brand new show combining the visual arts and the comedic arts into one big goopy mess. On display will be drawings of comedians by the lovely and talented Leslie Winchester as well as photographs of comedians by the handsome and talented Ameen Belbahri.

Leslie Winchester was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan. She earned a BFA at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD. Since moving to San Francisco two years ago, she had several art shows in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. She had her first solo show at Blush Wine Bar in the Castro district of SF in 2009. In Oakland, her second solo show was held at Lounge 3411. Other gallery shows include Giant Robot SF and LA, Mastodon Mesa LA, Show Cave LA, and 111 Minna Gallery SF.

Ameen Belbahri studied photography at community college after receiving a useless social science degree. He has never had his work displayed in a gallery, but is still immensely talented and very cool. Also, he is the one writing this thing you are reading right... now.

    Now onto the comedians:

Baron Vaughn is a curious bi-coastal comedian. He splits his time between NYC and LA where he can be seen in various clubs and underground rooms. He's been on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," many shows on VH1, MTV, FUSE, and the movies Cloverfield, and Black Dynamite. He's performed in the 2006 HBO US Comedy Arts Festival, the South Beach Comedy Festival, DC Comedy Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Vancouver Comedy Festival, All Points West, and the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival. Recently, he was seen on Comedy Central in both "The Awkward Comedy Show" (available on DVD and iTunes), and "Russell Simmons Presents: Stand Up at the El Rey."
Starting in January, you can see him on the new USA series "Fairly Legal."

Kris Tinkle is a San Francisco based comedian who recently released his debut CD "Almost Awesome" with Rooftop Records. He has done stand-up overseas for the troops and has opened for comics such as Dave Chappelle and David Alan Grier.

    Other featured comics:
    Joe Gorman
    Jules Posner
    Brendan Lynch
    Janine Brito
    and Special Guests TBA!

The words 'art' and 'Gorman' on the same bill? I'm not sure which is more sullied by that.
