This is also his first chance to refer to himself in the third person.
Seriously, who's going to this? Fairbanks got my top vote in last October's AST poll - this is a show well worth dropping 15 frogskins on, especially if Chris gets to do a full hour or more. We're going both nights if we can.

On the off chance you haven't seen Chris, go so hard to this show. He is so creative & smart & funny I don't even know what to do. I see comedy constantly & tune out sometimes even when good comics are on stage. Not so with Chris. I enjoy him so much that I think he thinks I'm insane. Like he thinks "Oh it's nice that he likes me, but yecch, he leers at me at laughs too hard. Why?" Well, Chris, it's because I'm a comedy gourmet and you are so tasty in your genius. (lower case "g" genius) Also, I don't care for San Francisco & its inhabitants, so be careful up there.
Glad to see Chris is rerecording his cd. I hope this recording goes great, be we are still able to hear the shit recording at some point.
My heart is literally broken knowing I can't go to this. Damn it!
Fairbanks is one of my all-time favorites and a great friend to all. Just honest, hilarious, and unique. Have fun, everybody. I feel like the sick kid who didn't get to go to the prom. Damn it again!
But if you live there or around there, you should go for sure.
Fairbanks is one of the best. You don't want to miss the chance to see him do a full headlining set.
i'm planning to be there for the thursday show!

We went last night; Chris was on fire with some older material. Tonight's set will be substantially different.

Bumping this up - if you live in an ZIP code that starts with 94 or 95, you owe it to yourself to be at this show tonight.
Wish I could have gone.![]()

Hi all,
I don't post much but I just had to chime in and say that I went to this show and it was absolutely fantastic. Phil Hanley was great (I had only ever heard him on "Stop Podcasting Yourself"...his stage persona is different and awesome), and Chris of course had me in tears.
You know how over and over again in movies like "I Love You Man", the joke is just in the way the character trails off and act awkward? Chris is like the smart, perfect, non-lazy version of that. When he trails off at the end of a joke and goes in to a free-association thing, it's always witty and interesting. I love his style and I'm sure the CD will be great.
Also, I spoke with him briefly after the show and he was really nice. I emailed with Phil and he's a nice guy, too.
See, this is what Chris needs to read and hear. He seems to think he's no longer got the stuff and it drives me crazy. He's better now than he's ever been. In fact, like so many of the greats, his neurosis is a fine gasoline for his comedy machine.
Didn't mean to rhyme just then. Wish I could have been there. I want this CD.
