Thread: Bay Area Blogs

    Bay Area Blogs

I've been reading two new blogs written by/featuring some great Bay Area comics.

The first is legendary amongst SF comics and has even been performed live as a part of The Business, it's Sex Talk with Kaseem, and it's pretty much highlights Emily Heller has picked out of conversations with Kassem Bentley. http://sextalkwithkaseem.blogspot.com/

And the second JUST started up and I'm already in love with it, Marcella Arguello (who just moved to LA) is now a nanny to "white baby". Hella good and will only get better.

There must be more out there, suggestions? I sit in front of a computer 9-5 and don't ACTUALLY want to do my work. I know others must be just as lazy.

I once got to enjoy a 90-minute car ride with myself, Nathan Jackson and Kaseem. I wish I had recorded it. That blog is pretty great.

Marcella's nanny blog is also hilarious. Thanks for posting the link!

In the name of brash narcissism, I've been getting a great reaction from my current blog project (which I do all the writing for), the San Francisco Burger Blog.

I apologize for only offering a blog I wrote.

Don't you ever apologize for san francisco burger blog, drieux. It's a beacon of drool-inducing hope during a hellish day absent of bacon.

I'd like to plug my 3-year-old comedy blog, Luggage Tuesdays (yes, I originally set it up when I was hosting the now-defunct Luggage Store Tuesday night open mic). I get a dozen hits daily for people looking for mushroom, broccoli and salad jokes.

    Re: Bay Area Blogs

Hey, crazywhitegirl. My name's Janine Brito, I'm a member of the SF comedy scene. If you'd like to have a civil, face-to-face discussion about this blog, feel free to walk up to me and we can engage in a respectful conversation.

Please don't take this invitation as any sort of back-handed comment or threat. I'd hope that my character speaks for itself and that anyone who knows me personally would be able to attest to my open-mind and willingness to hear someone out.

Marcella's a friend of mine and, while that certainly doesn't mean I agree with her 100% of the time on all things, I would at least like to take a moment to sit down with you to defend her character from my own personal experiences with her.

    Ball's in your court.

Funny is funny, but not when your using a unsuspecting child to further your career. Oh, and can we remember that constantly referring to children white or otherwise by there race, is well, TIRED. Surprise, since only hacky comics can make that mistake over and over again.
Do you really think that your sad bitter post makes anybody but yourself look bad? That you wrote responses twice as long as her blog posts and then joined this site just to post them anonymously comes off as very pathetic and obsessive.

Thanks, Meen, you're right on point.

crazywhitegirl, my offer to discuss in person still stands. But I ask that you please delete your membership if you're not going to use this forum for anything other than mud-slinging. Everyone on this SF forum has been overwhelmingly positive and I don't want it brought down with stuff like this.

Marcella and Janine/Sabriega are good people, and anybody accusing either of hacky comedy or bad character isn't paying attention.

    Meen, however...

Back on topic! Sean Keane also has a blog. He is a funny man and I heart him. I'm not into sports but he has some great sports write-ups... he also shares a lot of videos from The Business which is MAGICAL show that takes place every Wednesday at The Dark Room.

    I think drieux's Dartanian/pirate goatee should have a blog.
