Sketch Comedy: Shoshinz w/ People's Republic of Komedy FRIDAY!

SketchFest Seattle presents Shoshinz on a triple-bill with Seattle's Ubiquitous They and The People's Republic of Komedy.

SHOSHINZ is Japanese for "shy timid people," but these two surreal Tokyo maids are subservient to nothing and no one. Their delicate silences and coy demeanor will lure you in, and then they will bend your mind with brilliant physical theater, dance, absurd music and song. They will not clean your house, but they will blow your mind.

Yanomi and Kuronatsu of SHOSHINZ have starred in numerous theater productions in Tokyo and elsewhere in Japan and have toured to Canada, Egypt, Russia, Iran, and many countries across Asia.

SHOSHINZ formed in 2005 and is now one of the most renowned comedy troupes in Japan. They are now performing in the U.S. for the first time with the Shoshinz: ‘We Love You Too’ - West Coast Tour.

SHOSHINZ! Cutest, funniest, weirdest act ever!

I like PROK also, but they might consider dressing as tiny maids. Sometimes.

I guess this explains why PROK's Lo-Ball was pretty much empty on Friday.

Looks like it was a cool show though, The Ubiquitous They is pretty funny and Shoshinz looks cool too.

Another reason Lo-Ball was empty Friday was that it was one of the off-week shows, which are mostly used as open mics for new comics, and generally aren't promoted much. The "real" Lo-Ball is the last Friday of the month. This month's show (on the 27th) already has 25 pre-sales, which is a lot for that place (Live Girls! Theater, which, hosts Lo-Ball, can only hold about 100 max). It should be a good show--we're doing a birthday theme, so there will be cake, pinatas, possibly a male stripper and it will be hosted by a certain creepy clown.

    Hope to see you there!

    PROK Producer, Lo-Ball
