Not sure I've every posted anything to AST in all the time I've been reading it, but since there is now a Seattle sub-forum thought I would.

As of right now the target date for the re-opening of the Seattle Comedy Underground is Tuesday, September 9 2008 - which, not coincidentally, is the "Mitch Across America" CD release event being held at 6 clubs simultaneously around the country.

Here is the info:
MITCH ACROSS AMERICA:
One Nation Under Gosh

“Do You Believe in Gosh” is the long-awaited third album from comedy icon, Mitch Hedberg, set for release on COMEDY CENTRAL RECORDS on Tuesday, September 9. Recorded two months prior to his death, the album contains nearly 40 minutes of previously unreleased stand-up material. The CD captures most of the material Hedberg was working on for what would have been his next full-length album in a free-form show with a large amount of audience interaction. The album pulses with Hedberg’s inimitable wit and spirit and is a document of a comedy master.

MITCH ACROSS AMERICA is a series of live comedy shows occurring simultaneously in clubs across the country all in celebration of Mitch Hedberg and “Do You Believe In Gosh?” The nation-wide event will occur on Tuesday, September 9th, when the album is officially released to the public.

Comedy Central and Lynn Shawcroft will advise on the bookings for each show as needed. Talent will range from Mitch’s closest comedy friends to those young up-and-comers who were inspired by him. Each act will do standard sets and can talk about their Mitch experiences as much or as little as they wish. At the end of the show, all acts will come back on stage and pass the mic, covering their favorite Hedberg material. The audience can get involved as well. Free CDS to the best impression! We also plan on creating a photo montage to screen during audience walk-in.

At present, we have confirmed shows at Comix in New York City, Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis, Cap City in Austin, The Melrose Improv in Hollywood, The Comedy Underground in Seattle, and a show in Cincinnati to be hosted by Josh Sneed.

Nice synchronicity going on here. . .we'll try to get all the information posted at http://www.comedyunderground.com.
