Well its almost that time of year again. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good hotel for a good price in the area of hawthorne for bridgetown?

Hawthorne Hostel. Five blocks away from the action.
hawthorne hostel is perfect if you don't like sleep.
We'll be using Hotel Fifty again this year (http://www.hotelfifty.com), so they'll most likely have discounted rates for fans. I'll post when the details of that have been decided.
Has anyone submitted? Either this year or previously?
I'm strongly considering submitting CB Radio in hopes of doing a live recording from the festival. Do I have a shot or would I just be throwing my $20 away? And am even eligible to submit? Because a live podcast isn't exactly "sketch" or "stand up.
Does anyone have any speculation or hopes or inside knowledge of who may be atending this year?
I'm praying for a WTF, Sklarboro Country, How did this get Made?, Mike Detective, The Smartest Man in the World and Paul F Tompkast.
Just my opinion... but live podcast recordings aren't always the most entertaining events. WTF and NNF have been lots of fun to see live, but even those don't gain too much impact by seeing them live.
The only folks on my Bridgetown wish-list are Todd Glass and Maria Bamford. (and, hell, Hannibal for a third year would be great!)
This'll be my third year attending... really looking forward to it... keep up the great work, Andy!
A live produced show (a Paul F show, for example) or a live game show type thing (like "Match Game"), on the other hand, would be fucking great.
As a lazy attendee, the live podcasts have really been the only things I go to...I enjoy them. But understandable if you prefer seeing stand-up sets.
Stop reading if you don't like city-bragging:
With the new Helium club in town, I have pretty much seen/will see all the stand-up sets I really wanted to.
Having said that, Bridgetown offers a lot more, with all the open-mic/drop-in sessions, improv, film, etc.... (Obligatory Voodoo Donuts Reference), and nothing beats Brody Stevens running a show at Bridgetown, NOTHING.
Ari Shaffir is going to be at bridgetown with his storyteller show according to his twitter.
If anyone can't wait for Bridgetown, I'll be doing my show Naked & Bloody at the Woods on Friday, February 25. http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/156589
A couple people who have confirmed via twitter/tumblr of their presence at Bridgetown.
Todd Barry
Doug Benson
Graham Elwood
James Adomian
I'm happy with that so far.

Honestly, don't wait till the line up comes out. There is no need. Start looking for cheap flights. You will never, ever, regret being at Bridgetown. (Plus I am sure the line up will be great.)
Even without the festival there are about a billions things about Portland that make me love it. Voodoo donuts for breakfast. Bunk sandwiches for lunch. $3 beers for dinner. (Sure I will have to buy two seats for the flight home but it will be worth it.) Everyone getting carpal tunnel syndrome the first day after playing classic arcade games at Ground Kontrol. Hanging out at Powell's Books and hearing people talking about reading in a positive way.
Even if you are lucky enough to live in a city with lots of comedy I promise you will see something new in Portland. Every year there are shows at Bridgetown that become legends, stories whispered about at 3 am at after hours parties. For example after a long show instead of doing two separate sets Jon Dore and James Adomian did simultaneous sets.
Isn't it worth a few hundred dollars to be at a party when Steven Brody Stevens shows up and the crowd spontaneously starts chanting his name? Isn't it worth dieing with a little more dept to spend a few days in one of the most beautiful parts of our country celebrating good comedy?
Come on AST let's see those faces behind those avatars in Portland.
I love all of you and I should not write posts this late at night it causes me to have poor grammar and earnestness.
Sincerely,
Edward Salazar
"Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory."
I agree with Ed, personally I don't care who's on the lineup... and it shouldn't matter for you on-the-fencers either. Walkable venues, cheap delicious food, set against a beautiful little city.
Also Voodoo Donuts:
Also, for those who are a little more adventurous and wary about lodging prices, look into hostels or couch surfing. I did couch surfing last year and it was great. I stayed in a house full of true hippies and they were super nice. But most importantly it was free and a short bus ride to the venues.
Last year I also stayed in a hostel while passing through Portland, and that was less than $20 a night.
No excuses guys. Just go.
Don't lecture me, I already have my flight and room! All there is to care about is line up and when I'll get my bacon donuts!
And killing Bridgetown roommate Berliner in his sleep.

That was just our PSA to those on the fence about it.
It's a good time folks, don't let Valorie's guaranteed presence deter you.
Oh don't worry, I'll just be at Voodoo Donuts stuffing my face. I won't be terrorizing the streets of Portland.
