Beards of Comedy tour in Portland 1/26 and Seattle 1/30

Wednesday 26 – Beauty Bar Portland. FREE SHOW at brownpapertickets.com.

Sunday 30 – The Comedy Underground, Seattle. $10 at brownpapertickets.com.

The BEARDS OF COMEDY Tour is quickly becoming one of the hottest shows in the U.S, with four of the funniest, freshest (and yes, bearded) faces in comedy. Not your typical Southern comedians, the "Beards" deliver an original brand of humor that's deeply rooted in stand-up, and lightly blended with avant-garde elements of music, sketch and improv. The Beards are comprised of Andy Sandford (named Best Local Comedian 2010 by Creative Loafing Atlanta and Best Atlanta Comedian by AtlantaStandsUp.com); Asheville, NC’s Joe Zimmerman (San Francisco Comedy Competition, Rooftop Comedy’s Golden Shingle Award nominee); Athens’s TJ Young (Stand-Out Stand Up winner at 2008’s Laugh Your Asheville Off Comedy Festival) and Atlanta’s Dave Stone (Rooftop Comedy’s 2010 Silver Nail Award winner).

It’s labeled The Beards of Comedy Tour, and their work has not gone unnoticed, selling out shows in numerous southeastern markets. In July 2009, The Beards recorded their debut album, “Comedy for People” for Rooftop Comedy Records. It now receives frequent satellite-radio airplay, particularly on Sirius’s “Raw Dog” channel. Individually, the Beards have worked with Aziz Ansari, Todd Barry, Doug Benson, Jim Breuer, Greg Giraldo, Andy Kindler, Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Marc Maron, Greg Proops and many more. One thing is certain: The Beards of Comedy Tour is a fiercely follicled foursome of hilarity to be reckoned with...with laughter, not violence.

The Beards of Comedy will be joined by a certain long-winded AST poster as their special guest when they perform at the Comedy Underground, Seattle, on Sunday January 30th.

Great set last night PG! I enjoyed everyone's sets actually, and even won* a cigarette for my vast knowledge of bearded drummers.

*aforementioned cigarette relinquished on the behalf of improvisational comedy.
    or DON'T believe me!

Your trivia knowledge is impressive, young man...and I appreciate the fact that your life can be extended by, perhaps, a day by your having re-gifted your special award.

The Beards were great--similar backgrounds still leading to individual comedic styles is always a fascinating thing to watch...and they were sharp and on their game last night.

Personally, I still feel like I'm playing myself back into game shape on stage after a lengthy time off...so, I appreciate the kind words but I wish I could have brought more thunder, myself.

pg--Of course, it wasn't about me...it was about the Beards...and the Beards were great!--seattle
