2012: 33rd Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition

The Seattle International Comedy Competition is now accepting applications for this year's event, which will take place in November of 2012.

Former champions of this event include: Mitch Hedberg, David Crowe, Matt Weinhold, Lamont Ferguson, Damonde Tschritter, Tom Cotter, Darryl Lenox, Dwight Slade, Kermet Apio, Ross Shafer, Gabriel Rutledge, Drake Witham, Marcus, Tommy Savitt, Sean Kent, Auggie Smith, Mike Baldwin and many others.

The list of people who have competed but NOT won is filled with names like: Rory Scovel, Myq Kaplan, Ty Barnett, Patton Oswalt, Aisha Tyler, Brian Posehn, Jeff Dye, Mike Drucker, Cy Amundson, Paul Myrehaug, Glenn Wool, Ian Karmel, Nick Sun, Randy Liedtke, Costaki Economopoulos, Emmett Montgomery, Jen Kober, Prescott Tolk, Tyler Boeh, Dan Boulger, Ron Funches, Josh Gondelman, Paul Hooper, Andy Haynes, Patrick Keane, Virginia Jones, Eric Krug, Derek Sheen, Sam Demaris, Eddie Pence, Joe List, Will Weldon, Dax Jordan...

Over 600 comedians from around the world applied to be considered for last year's event...and I think the talent we present in this event keeps getting better and better.

With the application deadine passing on September 1st, attention in the roster selection process turns to the six Regional Talent Showcases being held this year towards consideration for the upcoming 33rd Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition.

The first two will take place in Portland, at Helium, on 9/11 and 9/12.

This Sunday, September 16th, to continue the process of evaluating area talent for consideration towards the upcoming 33rd Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition, the first of three Seattle-based Regional Talent Showcases will be held at the Comedy Underground in Seattle.

A lot of very funny people on all of these shows--if you are in the area, you are encouraged to attend and give these performers the great audience that they deserve in order for them to better make their case for getting an invitation to this year's event!
