TONIGHT! FREE! I am headlining the Mayne Stage Theater!

This weekend I was supposed to open for Maria Bamford at the lovely Mayne Stage Theater. It truly is lovely. Don't let the empty Magic Video across the street fool you, it's worth billions of moneys.

Maria has fallen ill. She is a badass, and I really hope she recovers quickly. Last night I got to open for an emergency fill in, Sonya White. And tonight, with my friend and left-brained Irish nerd Adam Burke opening for me, I am lucky enough that I get to headline both the 8 and 10:30 PM shows.

If there is any silver lining, it's that these shows are on Maria. Free. All tickets for her shows tonight have been refunded. You can come and watch me for free whether you were going to see her or not. Tell the box office I said so!

This is a huge deal. Have you seen this venue? Doing a long set there will be an honor for sure. I will do my best to be dark and awkward the way Maria would have wanted.

It was crazy how much fun was still to be had last night. Thank you so much if any of you ASTers were able to make it out. Both shows were packed even though everyone had their tickets refunded early in the day. They could have just as easily gone "Ah, bummer, fuckit I'm gonna drink at home" or whatever normal people do with such information. No, everyone helped keep the vibe at the place awesome. That meant a lot to me personally, and made everyone at the theater really happy. Rock.

I went to the late show, everybody was great last night. I can tell you like to watch a lot of movies, Dan.

I hate to be "that guy," but I had been super-bummed I was going to miss Maria because I had to be out of town for a wedding, and was just a little bit relieved to find out I wasn't missing her after all. However, i know for a fact Mr. Telfer is a pro and hilarious and it sounds like great comedy happened at this very great venue after all, which is awesome for him, the venue, and comedy in general.

That being said, any word on whether Maria is planning on rescheduling?
