Should I move to Chicago?

I'm a comic from Toronto and Canada can only get you so far. I'm weighing out my options. L.A. and New York just don't appeal to me but I know there's a comedy scene in Chicago and was wondering if some Chicago vets could give me the low down of how things are there comedy-wise.

This might sound stupid, but do you plan on getting a green card?

I think chicago is a great city in that there are plenty of opportunities to perform (open mics + showcases) we've got a couple comedy clubs. Also, a mass public transit system the makes having a car not totally necessary and affordable living.

If I were to move to America yes I would go the green card route or temporary visas to start. It's actually easier for me to get to Europe because my mother was born in Portugal making it easier for me to have dual-citizenship. Trying to figure out my routes.
