Patton Oswalt at The Lakeshore 12/26

I'm going to do a show on Saturday, December 26th at The Lakeshore in Chicago. If you're in town, and need a break from your family, or have no family or no one who cares whether you live or die, and you're watching the snow falling in the darkness and thinking the universe is a machine designed to make you feel ignored and un-loved, then come on out. There'll be jokes and the heat will be on and you'll be surrounded by people. For nearly two hours you can forget about the hooded figure who haunts your drab, doom-soaked life, pointing at you and hissing, "Soon".

All the proceeds from the show go towards keeping The Lakeshore up and running, so they can bring more comedy to you in 2010.

If you hate the idea of more great comedy in 2010 at The Lakeshore, then avoid this show at all costs:

I would definitely rather go to this show than see my family and friends, but unfortunately I already bought a non-refundable plane ticket.

Yes I too fall into that "non-refundable" plane ticket category! Best of luck with the show Patton. I regularly go to the Lakeshore Theater, best place for stand up in Chicago, in my opinion, so I definitely want all the best acts for 2010.

Is there any way you can convince Zach to do a show there? As far as intimate venues go this would be the best place.

Before there were responses I knew there would be responses like this. Pretty much a ton of comedy nerds in Chicago hail from far away lands (like Michigan). Why Chicago on the 26th? Patton? Ritter?

Almost all of my Chicago friends spend the holidays in the city, with family. I really wanted to do something to help The Lakeshore Theatre out, and this seemed to be a good solution.

Despite the angst in this thread, tickets sales are going great, so it doesn't look like I'm going to have a problem filling the venue. Either way, I should be back next summer.

I will be in Michigan for the holiday but seriously considering traveling back to Chicago for this show.

Are Chicago ASTers going to be attending and would there be an after party? Seems like we should make this a holiday function of some sorts?

I'll have scotch, cheese, and Michigan Medical. Should we do this?

I'm driving 10 hours back to Chicago that day... I could potentially get back in time to be at the show all loopy and delirious. I'm going to look into it.
