Kristen Schaal epitomizes to me everything that is great about what's happening in comedy today. Like Provenza described Kaufman in a recent Punchline interview, she realizes the "frame" of her art doesn't stop at the stage. Beyond straight stand up, she's everything I hope for when I insist on the term "comedy theater" to describe the Lakeshore and not "comedy club". She's previewing her all-new Edinburgh Fringe show this time around. Ken Barnard will be featuring - what's not to love?

My advice? Come Friday night and then head over to the Playground to see Lola Balatro.

Do to an unforeseeable, unavoidable health incident (that left me in the hospital for 3 days) I have had to cancel the show this weekend. The good news is that I'm going to be 100% better. The bad news is not by Friday. But I will reschedule it, and I'm very sorry.
