On November 19th at Molly Malone's Irish Pub in Forest Park, I will be holding a benefit for Ronald McDonald House Charities. The event will consist of local comedic talent from around Chicagoland, and I am looking for comics who will be willing to perform.
Venue
The event will be held in a private room at Molly Malone’s Irish Pub in Forest Park. The lights will be dim with lighting accents on the performance area, which will be large enough for a stand up performance and will be equipped with a microphone and speaker system. The venue is very large but can be divided into rooms. I have never done this before and have no idea of what to expect, but my goal is at least 50 although the space could hold many more at full capacity.
Material
Ideally, the material should be fairly clean, but doesn’t have to be squeaky. Avoid sexual humor if at all possible. Otherwise anything else is negotiable within reason. I will serve as an “emcee” for the event unless I can find someone who would be willing to do a better job.
Audience
I am targeting college students to young adults, although all are invited. I am working with the Ronald McDonald House, Molly Malone’s, Concordia University and Dominican University to help me advertise. I will also be utilizing Facebook, Metromix, and Time Out Chicago as well as writing a press release. I am guessing an age range of 18-35.
