Hi buddies,

We didn't have a show last week. I guess some people celebrated Thanksgiving? That's just the worst. Who likes that dumb holiday? Being surrounded by your loved ones and the warmth of tradition? Yuck. Another thing that's yuck is the phrase "warmth of tradition". I thought I just made it up and got really mad at my brain for imagining it, but then I googled it and the first 100 hits are for a book called African American Quilting: The Warmth of Tradition. I'm not mad at my brain anymore! Because now I know that in a past life I was a sick quilter.

Please come visit Big Terrific this week. We've got so much to tell you! We all have wacky families so I'm sure there will be lots of crazy stories about how Nana left her keys in the pie or something.

No Brent, but Nick Kroll dropped by for a surprise set and did a hilarious Spanish radio host bit. Jamie Lee was great and hot. Gabe and Jenny and Max were wonderful as usual. It was nice seeing DC Benny do so well at an "alt comedy" venue. Zach G phoned it in for the first part of his set and then got more comfortable when he did some crowd work. But Andres du Bouchet was the real star of the night. He absolutely killed with his rare take on the mating habits of finches. Brought the house down.

And I totally agree about DC Benny. His refreshingly sincere stories, with no irony or distance from his subjects, seemed to really surprise and impress the crowd. I love love loved it.

Andres had me in tears. Everyone was great! For anyone that came, sorry it was so packed and I hope it was not uncomfortable. Come again! They are always fun.

I am not sure if I've ever said this, but Andres is one of my absolute favorite comedians/story tellers on the planet. Not only is the content of his material completely mind-blowing, but his extremely theaterly oration is priceless. LOVE THAT MAN
