Shows in the middle of October - help!

Hey my NY PEEPS! (Did I say that right? "Hey"?)

I'm going to be in your beautiful city with some friends from October 17th to the 29th. Naturally I've checked the UCB site but I guess it's too early to see any confirmed shows. If you know of any other good shows, please let me know. Small or big doesn't matter. PM me if it's a secret and we'll be sneaky!

    Hey Bud

Yeah, it's a tad early to tell for now especially now that Rififi is kaput.

We New Yorkers will do our best to keep you abreast.

    Because you're the best

Nothing's ever gonna keep me down.

You should put up a show that I can attend! I'll buy you a fuckin' slice before.

Re: Shows in the middle of October - help!

There are free shows Mon - Saturday in Ochi's Lounge which is downstairs at Comix. Although the October calendar isn't online, it will be very similar if not exactly the same as September.

If you have some spending money, in Comix's main showroom there are some great shows like Mortified, the Rejection Show and Marc Maron. Almost all of October is already online. www.comixny.com

    Great weekly Sunday night shows:

    - Eugene Mirman and Mike Showalter's Tearing the Veil of Maya at Union Hall
    - Assscat at UCB
    - Greg Johnson and Larry Murphy Show at Pianos

These shows are all either free or $5, so there's really no reason not to go.

    Not great.

The ASSSSCAT show on the 19th sold out before I could book tickets. Maybe we'll get into the free one. Are the lines big for these shows?

I'll see if the other kids are up for some Birbiglia, it's close to our hostel at least!

Death by Roo Roo have a show every Friday:

I've never seen them do that particular format, but they've been incredible every time I've seen them perform.

The ASSSSCAT lines have been absolutely insane length-wise. For the free show, I'd line up around 5:30-6pm.

    Mike,

While I imagine this will be a bit redundant as I will be posting a thread for this show as well, I'm not too proud to court people one by one.

Re: Shows in the middle of October - help!

    That looks great!

When should one line up for that?

No chance of us standing in line for four hours. we'll probably book tickets for the 26th but there's a show (Gods & Queens/Young Widows) I'd like to go to as well, damnit!

Re: Shows in the middle of October - help!

The show hasn't turned away anyone yet. The houses have been about half full the last month. So show up 5 minutes before the show starts and you should be fine. There has been a line of 20-30 people the last couple of weeks so if you want a really prime spot maybe show up 15 or 20 minutes before 11.

Anyone got an extra ticket or two or three for ASSSSCAT on the 26th?
