so they distribute reservations to the free show at 8:15. i assume there's a line to get these reservations, right? what time should i show up if i want to get a seat?

It's been a couple years since I've gone, but I usually showed up around 6:45 and would end up around 60-70th in line
I suggest not doing it in the winter. It's much better to just go to the paid show.
But if you must, I'd show up around 5:30-6:00. There's about 5 good seats in the theater and I enjoy the show much more if I have a good seat.
hmm. i'll probably get there around 6:30. if my friend shows up around 7:30 to meet me, will everyone already in line hiss and throw rocks at us?
I've always found that the best bet is to just pay the ten bucks for the early show, then hop in the stand-by line for the late/free show. Granted, that's if you want to see them both. I've almost always done stand-by for the early show and have gotten in every time, and usually can grab a seat.
things are iffy.
I have a 9 year old hobby of sneaking backstage at concerts, getting into sold out events, getting front row or VIP and even getting in to shows for free.
I have a few tips on how to get into UCB shows if they are sold out, or have ridiculously long lines, but I do not like to make them public. If anyone wants tips on how to make the most of your UCB experience, pm me.
I am NOT advising anyone to sneak or do anything illegal, btw. Pure strategy. Just so you know...
I'd love to hear those tips.
hahaha
