TRICLOPS say:
"Me love Tiger Lily!"
bumps
hope to see you all there
Thanks to all who came out! It was crazy packed, so apologies to anyone who had a hard time seeing the performers. It deffo pays to reserve a table for shows like tonight. Anyway, we're looking forward to coming weeks and lots of great nights at Cuba Libre (IF that is the bar's real name).
That show was the SHIT.
I stupidly got there way late after finally goading someone to come with me. I only saw Patton's set but I really liked the space and will definitely get my ass there on time next time.
Oh, if anyone can recap from the front lines, that would be great. I typically get lost in the shuffle and can't really pay attention to what's happening on stage. Megalope did the photog thing, so pics will materialize shortly.
Maria did not perform, but Jeff Ross did another CC Roast preview set and killed it. Lots of great one-liners that he'll be using on Bob Saget and the panel. Blaine played the role of the bemused Saget.
Beyond that, we had really solid sets from the rest of the performers which were bolstered by a good crowd.
Ack. Doesn't want to flick. Here's the link to the set: Tiger Lily 7.28.08
Blaine Capatch really killed it that night, both as host and as Bob Saget stand-in. My favorite part was when the guys at my table (strangers--I asked to sit with them so I could take photos, the place was so effing packed) repeated the punch lines to jokes. That happened after ... pretty much every joke. All right, guys!

Thanks for the pics, megalope! Now I know what the show looked like. A "good crowd" is putting it mildly... that was a fire code crowd.
No recap, but I will say that Jimmy Dore did the best set I've ever seen him do, and Jeffrey Ross's roast jokes went over tremendously well. I love it every time he pops in. Maybe some night he and Gaffigan will both pop in and my head will pop in turn.
ps. I find it very odd that Patton continues to tell this story about seeing a gigantic rat in his backyard, and yet he does not at least name-check Ratatouille... I mean, isn't that what we're all thinking? Is that odd, or am I odd?
Don't answer that.
