The LOS ANGELES COMEDY FESTIVAL embraces all things funny. The past SIX festivals have been great fun, featuring over 1200 performers from Los Angeles, across the country, and Canada, performer networking, sold out shows, great press and amazing comedy. The FILM component screens Features, Shorts and TV Pilots from around the globe. And premiering this festival is the SCREENPLAY COMPETITION which awards cash, prizes and industry recognition to the winners.

The festival has brought out the industry in force, with attendance by ABC, CBS, NBC, HBO, FOX TV, JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, COMEDY CENTRAL, COMEDY CENTRAL FILMS, E! ENTERTAINMENT, MTV, WARNER BROTHERS, WORLDWIDE PANTS, SONY, OXYGEN, SPIKE TV, BRILLSTEIN ENTERTAINMENT PARTNERS, CAA, UTA, ICM, PARADIGM and many production companies, agents, managers, casting directors and more. The 7th Biannual Los Angeles Comedy Festival will be held from May 6-23 at the beautiful ACME Comedy Theatre.

Just a question about the "non-refundable processing fee." I have participated in several comedy festivals. I was in Aspen in 2004 for the HBO Comedy Arts Festival. I was in Chicago in 2009 for the Just For Laughs Festival. I was also in the much smaller 1999 and 2000 Chicago Comedy Festivals, and will be in the upcoming Bridgetown Comedy Festival. None of these festivals have had such a fee, from the gigantic JFL to the very small and limited budget Chicago Comedy Festival. I am unsure why such a fee is necessary. It would instill some confidence in your festival if you could illustrate why such a fee is warranted, when festivals of all sizes and budgets seem to conduct their selection processes without such expense passed on to the prospective festival invitee.
