This Joke Machine: Steven Brody Stevens will defend his native Los Angeles against powerhouse transplants Howard Kremer and Chris Fairbanks, who themselves have a fierce rivalry invented for this sentence. Come out to see this gameshow-meets-roast free-for-all hosted by the hilarious Bil Dwyer.

Holy Christ, what a show. Thanks to the great audience who came out and the super cool Nerdist theater staff.

Howard Kremer, on fire, eked out a narrow victory over Chris Fairbanks in the final round. Howard, Chris, Steven Brody Stevens put on a clinic of slams, riffs, standup. Howard and Chris's impromptu impression-off, doing each other's voices, still riffing after their final 3 min standup sets-- so good. Brody Stevens had us crying as he attempted impressions of Chris and Howard. Bil Dwyer: ridiculously inventive and funny as the host.

Three months ago, I wasn't sure I wanted to bring Joke Machine back. But Greg Lobb and Paul Hopkins were insistent and erstwhile host Chris Hardwick was kind enough to give us a slot in his house of nerds. I'm glad. Perfect venue and this format is so much damn fun. Get to see multi-faceted talents of such great comics. Love it.

Next Joke Machine is October 13. Stoked about the line-up we've been talking about. If everyone comes through it's going to be insane, y'all.
