I've been producing comedy shows in Cleveland, check them out here:

I approached a popular music/arts festival about producing a comedy stage at this years event. So things are rolling along, submitted a preliminary budget/gameplan to Ingenuity Fest (www.ingenuitycleveland.com) for approval (the festival is still finalizing their final budget proposal so nothings confirmed yet) and got Hilarities (www.hilarities.com) on board. They'd be putting up host/feature work to award to stand outs from the festival. Discussions are also under way to hold the Best of the Fest showcase at the club.
SO, here's the beginning schematics, once things are finalized submissions will be open but as of now:
12 hours of total programming
8 hour long comedy showcases
4 hours set aside for sketch/improv/podcast shows
The Chucklefck showcases will be hour long blocks hosted by Jim Tews (www.jimtews.com) & myself (http://ramonrivas.bandcamp.com/)
3 comics will do 8-10 minutes, another comic will close out the block doing 15
One of the three comics from each show will be invited to the Best of the Fest show
One of the headlining comics from each day of shows will be invited to the Best of Fest show
There will be 8 of those types of shows
So there will be 24 performer slots
-8 will be accepted from the midwest
-8 will be accepted from the midatlantic
-8 will be accepted from Ohio
Additional entrants may be accepted depending how the scheduling shakes out.
I'm thinking, there will be a $15 submission fee to be considered for host work and $25 for feature.
As things roll along and get confirmed, I'll be working to get additional sponsors to add more to the prize packages, etc.
Yelp Cleveland is excited and I'm discussing sponsorship with them and as things get confirmed, our sponsorships should grow. Reached out to Doug Benson, Scott Aukerman and other podcasters to see about getting a live podcast recording of one of them at the festival.
EVERYTHINGS UP IN THE AIR, shout out to Dikembe
Just wanted to get some feedback about what goes into a good comedy festival, things to avoid, things to ensure I do, etc.
Once things get confirmed and approved I'll post more information
